I also loved Elske, Tor's "pet" wolf。 She was a great addition! I wonder whether Tor will come back for her *cough*come back for Wren *cough* or if Wren and Rose will go to Gevra to get Banba back? I'm really excited to read book two and I hope that I don't have to wait for long! When Wren and Rose first meet face to face I loved how quickly they became close and acted like real sisters。 I also love how fiercely protective they were of each other。There may be romance in this book for both sisters, but the true love in the story, I think, is the love between Wren and Rose, and sisters in general。 And even though they were seperated for their whole lives, they still love each other and protect each other。 When they got together, it was as if they hadn't been seperated at all。I like Celeste and how funny she is。 She is such a great best friend to Rose! And I'm glad she was able to notice that Wren was an impostor。 Like a true best friend would be able to!One thing that kept confusing me and annoying me is that anytime Wren and/or Rose tried to call off the wedding Rathborne, King Alarik or some other man was essentially telling them no and not letting them call it off。 Like, isn't Rose the princess soon to be Queen? Isn't she ABOVE the Kingsbreath? Why did she have to do what he said no matter what? She should have just decreed as princess that the wedding was off! But it did make for a lot of crazy and funny mishaps! She also might have been better off speaking to Prince Ansel and telling him she wanted to postpone/call off the wedding。Speaking of Prince Ansel!!! :( I am absolutely heartbroken by what happened to him at the end of the book! He was so sweet and had an innocent like personality。。。 I understand why King Alarik and Princess Anyka are wanting war with Eana now。 Poor Ansel!! I loved this book and every moment of it! I paced it and took my time reading it because I didn't want it to be over。 I am really excited to get my hands on the second book!! 。。。more

This is probably about a 3。5 but I've rounded up。 This was an interesting novel and the two viewpoints were refreshingly succint and it was very clear that both sisters had very different personalities and motivations which was great。 They also had very distinct storylines。 The world-building is diverse and there are a lot of different aspects to it。 Sometimes, however, whenever history was being explained to one of the characters it felt a lot like an info dump and took me out of the story, par This is probably about a 3。5 but I've rounded up。 This was an interesting novel and the two viewpoints were refreshingly succint and it was very clear that both sisters had very different personalities and motivations which was great。 They also had very distinct storylines。 The world-building is diverse and there are a lot of different aspects to it。 Sometimes, however, whenever history was being explained to one of the characters it felt a lot like an info dump and took me out of the story, particularly towards the end when everything was happening very fast and there was just a break to describe something that happened hundreds of years ago with previous queens。 It just felt a little clunky。 Character wise I loved one twin and 。。。 tolerated the other。 I really struggled with Rose's chapters and found her entire personality to be a bit much。。。 By the end I had warmed to her a little but still found her chapters harder to get through (which is annoying because for a large chunk of the book, hers were the more exciting ones with the the more interesting side characters)。 Wren's storyline was pretty obvious but still interesting and I liked her as a character a little more。 In terms of love interests, I adored both Shen Lo and Tor but didn't really feel much of a connection in either of the actual romances。 They weren't bad, I just wasn't buying it。 Also, I want more Celeste。 This took me a really long time to get through, and I have no real reason as to why。 I enjoyed it but didn't love it。 。。。more

This may not have been anything groundbreaking or new but I had so much fun with it。 It was witty, entertaining and the ships were EVERYTHING (it featured not one but TWO of my favourite tropes (enemies-to-lovers and grumpy bodyguard。) The diverse cast of characters were all written well, the POV voices were strong and unique from one another and the plot wasn't too convoluted and yet it was just predictable enough to feel classic and oddly nostalgic, rather than dull or overdone。 Overall, this This may not have been anything groundbreaking or new but I had so much fun with it。 It was witty, entertaining and the ships were EVERYTHING (it featured not one but TWO of my favourite tropes (enemies-to-lovers and grumpy bodyguard。) The diverse cast of characters were all written well, the POV voices were strong and unique from one another and the plot wasn't too convoluted and yet it was just predictable enough to feel classic and oddly nostalgic, rather than dull or overdone。 Overall, this was a highly entertaining read and a start of a series I'd happily continue reading whenever I feel like falling into a fun, comfortable fantasy read with kickass heroines, steamy romances and witty dialogue。 。。。more

I read this whole book in one sitting。 It was so cute!! It was giving middle school magic romance vibes but it was legitimately VERY good。 I would highly recommend。 Even for older people。 It was just just a pure, good, solid read with good characters and a good story。

Magical indeed 💫 Twin Crowns is one of the easiest reads I've read。 From enemies to lovers, witches and beasts, this gives you a little of everything with a good plot。 📚 Magical indeed 💫 Twin Crowns is one of the easiest reads I've read。 From enemies to lovers, witches and beasts, this gives you a little of everything with a good plot。 📚 。。。more

Twin Crowns was such a great read!! I really enjoyed Wrens and Roses POVs, but I gotta be honest Wren is my favourite。 I didn’t expect to like the story so much! Ending was really entertaining but so was the whole book。I can’t wait for the next book!!!!!

A common complaint I have about ebooks (and even ordering physical books online) instead of going to a physical bookstore and being able to flip through a book before you buy it is you are strictly relying on the blurb/synopsis when you go to buy it。 In essence, you’re trusting whoever the publisher hires to write the blurb/synopsis to be honest with you about what you’re getting when you buy a book without being able to flip through it and get a feel for it on your own。 This book deeply disappo A common complaint I have about ebooks (and even ordering physical books online) instead of going to a physical bookstore and being able to flip through a book before you buy it is you are strictly relying on the blurb/synopsis when you go to buy it。 In essence, you’re trusting whoever the publisher hires to write the blurb/synopsis to be honest with you about what you’re getting when you buy a book without being able to flip through it and get a feel for it on your own。 This book deeply disappointed me。 What reeled me into wanting to read it was the term “rom-com”。 This book is no more rom-com than any other YA fantasy romance out there。 As a matter of fact, it’s less funny than every Sarah J。 Maas book I’ve ever read。 That I’m absolutely sure of。 It’s just a plain and simple fact: this is just another YA fantasy romance duology that’s too long at even one book, so I can only imagine it’s going to be far too long for two books。 I don’t know how others will feel, but the best character in this whole book is Shen, and even he is just the Dread Pirate Westley but a witch。 Even some of the dialogue feels familiar, if not outright almost word-for-word。 You can call it a homage。 I just called it entertaining and left it at that because there was so much filler in this book it suffered from incredibly uneven pacing。 I won’t be reading the second half of this series, but I wish the authors luck。 A lot of people seem to have liked this book, but I wasn’t one of them。 Thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins Children’s Books, and Balzer & Bray for early access to this title in exchange for a fair and honest review。 As per personal policy, this review will not appear on social media or bookseller websites due to a 3 star or lower rating。 。。。more

Twins Crowns was a fun and compelling read。 I was simply bewitched from the start and to my delight, it did meet the hype。 Where it lacked in a strong and focused plot, it made up in wit and humour。 However, I felt that both love interests were moving too fast and it was difficult for me to feel any connection between the characters or any personal feeling for the couples。 I did enjoy the laughs between Wren and Tor and Wren might've been my favourite of the twins。 Rose was a gentle and loving p Twins Crowns was a fun and compelling read。 I was simply bewitched from the start and to my delight, it did meet the hype。 Where it lacked in a strong and focused plot, it made up in wit and humour。 However, I felt that both love interests were moving too fast and it was difficult for me to feel any connection between the characters or any personal feeling for the couples。 I did enjoy the laughs between Wren and Tor and Wren might've been my favourite of the twins。 Rose was a gentle and loving princess, but for me, I thought she was too far up on her high horse even when faced with the harsh reality。 Her personality did improve more than halfway through the book and I admired her strength and bravery。 I am looking forward to the next book in the series and can't wait to see what happens。 。。。more

OMG THIS WAS SO GOOD I loved it so much。I’ve realized I haven’t read fantasy in a while and this was the perfect book to come back to it。 It was funny at times and I feel like that’s amazing because sometimes you just want to read a good fantasy where you don’t want to cry every second because everyone is dying。 AND the love interests 🫢😳😯 I had one favorite… TOR 😍😱 he was so… I also liked Shen and that him and Wren were best friends but he wasn’t in love with her like the typical childhood frien OMG THIS WAS SO GOOD I loved it so much。I’ve realized I haven’t read fantasy in a while and this was the perfect book to come back to it。 It was funny at times and I feel like that’s amazing because sometimes you just want to read a good fantasy where you don’t want to cry every second because everyone is dying。 AND the love interests 🫢😳😯 I had one favorite… TOR 😍😱 he was so… I also liked Shen and that him and Wren were best friends but he wasn’t in love with her like the typical childhood friend。 GO FRIENDSHIPSAnd that the sisters didn’t hate each other just for existing。 So you should read this if you want a fantasy with romance with the povs of two sisters。 And royalty。 And witches。 。。。more

Thank you so much for @harper_reach for sending me an ARC of Twin Crowns!!How does one even start a review for a book they absolutely loved? How do I manage to get across to y’all how much I want you to pick up this book because of me? These are the questions I’ve been asking myself while trying to formulate anything resembling a review for this fantastic book… Anyway, this is what I got。 Hope it convinces you ;)Can we just take a moment to appreciate the plot for what it is? We have TWO princes Thank you so much for @harper_reach for sending me an ARC of Twin Crowns!!How does one even start a review for a book they absolutely loved? How do I manage to get across to y’all how much I want you to pick up this book because of me? These are the questions I’ve been asking myself while trying to formulate anything resembling a review for this fantastic book… Anyway, this is what I got。 Hope it convinces you ;)Can we just take a moment to appreciate the plot for what it is? We have TWO princesses separated at birth。 One raised in the royal court and one by the witches that live in hiding。 The princess is kidnapped and switched with the witch and chaos ensues。 Of course not everything goes as smoothly as Wren (witch princess) had thought。 Prentending to be Rose (princess princess) is proving to be more difficult than planned? There’s a betrothal and wedding planned that she was not aware of beforehand。 She’s not interested in the prince in the slightest… but is quite taken with his VERY impressive guard (Tor)。 More over, she finds out the Kingsbreath is planning to ship her (meaning Rose) away once she is married and rule in her stead!!!And of course Rose has her own obstacles to overcome。 First of all, she is KIDNAPPED。 So there’s that。 Second of all, she is faced with a new reality。 Whether we talk about the lack of fine sheets and a scented bath… or the fact that witches aren’t evil?? And that she is a witch??? And that she has a sister and said sister is taking her throne??Can you imagine how much that can screw with a person’s head? But anyway, she takes it (surprisingly) relatively well considering this life-altering findings。 And of course there’s Shen-Lo (her kidnapper) who’s incredibly hot, incredibly sweet and incredibly cute。I just love this premise to begin with。 We get double the princesses, double the romances, and adventure AND court intrigue at the same time!! What more can you ask for??This book is written in third person perspective, which while I think sounds better, is also usually harder for me to get into and enjoy。 But this book was written so well, so personal。 It didn’t feel as tedious as third POVs occasionally feel for me!! I loved the alternating chapters between Wren and Rose! I personally preferred Rose’s storyline better, but I enjoyed both immensely and had so much fun reading about the two。Also, this book is 500 pages long?? But it doesn’t feel that long at all。 It’s so fast paced and fun, you’ll be done with it before you notice。 I binge read it, and I’m not even a binge reader… 。。。more

While reading this book, I went through this whole thing thinking it would be a solid 4-4。5 stars。 However, once I finished it, I couldn’t give it anything else but a 5 stars! I loved the story, the relationships, everything! There’s humor, there’s romance and an amazing plot。 Both couples in this book had me giddy and happy。 I love them both。 Cant wait for the second book in the series。 So happy I pre-ordered this book & gave it a chance! ♥️
